Ashley

Ruffles, lace, pearls, gum paste flowers, all things I had never done before. This cake was a challenge for me. Thank goodness for a cake mentor sharing her expertise. I'm very pleased with it.

Audrie

Orange and turquoise. This one has a unique shape. The piping is fun to do.

Floating Clouds

This one is frosted with buttercream. The bride wanted them to look fluffy and she liked the tiers on separate stands. I love the flowers. They are so large and bright and pretty.

Candy Birthday Cake

This one was for Cassidy, Madison, and Jaidyn's surprise birthday party. I made the buttercream with butter so it would taste better and I think that's why the fondant started to ripple a bit. Anyway it was fun to create and turned out pretty good. Skittles are around each tier. All the kids had some cake and it was yummy.

Ryley

Coral and Silver were the colors of choice. Every little touch made this cake beautiful. Notice the ribbon backdrop, the grey feather accents, and the jeweled pins on each tier.

Draped Fondant

This cake was a joy for me to create. The draping is made of fondant mixed with white modeling chocolate. It went on so well.

Ashley - This cake is so unique. The modern style with the lines pressed into the fondant is gorgeous. The darker champagne ribbon is made of fondant too. The mother of the bride placed the beautiful gardenias and jewels.
McKenzie - This one has the monogram and some scroll work,
a different piped pattern on each tier.
I love the turquoise and yellow together.

Some Summer Cakes 2010

Sam. Love the bright color fondant ribbons on this one.
And nothing around the bottom edge of each tier so they
had to be flawless. Fun cake. Who doesn't love gerbers?

Lacey. Dana, the mother of the bride, designed this beauty.
It's yellow buttercream with a tuscan texture, purple ribbon,
gray piping and fondant underlays beneath the real, yes real,
white gerber daisies. So unique and beautiful. Notice the board
under the glass - pics of bride and groom mod podged on wood. Love!

Kylie. This one is a simple graceful design.
The one-of-a-kind flower arrangement really
makes the whole cake. I love the tiny dots too.

Felicidy. This is my niece's cake.
The damask print is done with a stencil.
The fondant went on very smoothly for me.
Love it. Aren't the flowers gorgeous.

Elegant

Jordan. Isn't this one pretty. It was for Jordan and Jon. The whole reception was very elegant. Black and white decorations with a touch of green (apples and calla lily). And guess what, when they cut the cake it was green.

And more:

Whitney. I absolutely love this one. It is pink fondant with white writing. The Gerber daisies look so gorgeous.

Norma. Isn't this one cute? The marbling was a fun touch and the polka dot ribbon is darling.

Apple cake. This one is chocolate fondant covered. It makes me think of tootsie rolls. The green apples are so bright and fresh.

Some more favorites:

Annaleigh. This is a simple elegant white fondant cake. There are narrow bright colored ribbon around each layer and Gerber daisies.

Lori. This one was fun to do. The ribbons are made of fondant. The bride wanted a plaid look with green and blue. We designed it together. I love how it turned out.

Leah. This one came out beautifully. It is white scroll work on white fondant. The flowers are gladiollas.

Laney. This one is pink and chocolate fondant. The bow on top is made of chocolate fondant and chocolate molding clay. The loops were made ahead and dried then stuck on the cake with chocolate royal icing.

A few of my favorite cakes:

Serri. Champagne colored fondant with white scroll work and trim. Quilting on the bottom layer. This is a pic before flowers were placed on it at the reception.

Lauren. I like the brown and turquoise on this one. It is white buttercream made to look real smooth.

Gift cake. This was done at Christmas time so it looks like gifts stacked on top of each other and the squares are off set.
